A Cheerful Giver

 Good Afternoon Falcon Family,

We have had such a fun week! As you know our students and staff (we are kids at heart) participated in spirit week. I have enjoyed seeing our students dressed up every day. The laughter, fun and memories made we each will cherish. Thank you for going the extra mile to help your student pull together the perfect outfit for each day.

Fundraising:

I know, I know, it is the dreaded F word that we each hate to hear. Our fall festival and diner card fundraisers were each great success. But just like running a household, there always seems to be a need or an improvement that needs to made. We currently have two fundraisers that we will participate in over the next couple of weeks. The first one is our Penny War. This is a fundraiser for F3. F3 is our PTO. They are an amazing group of parents who work hard to bring joy and fun to our campus. All money raised in the Penny War goes to fund F3 projects such as bounce house days, candyland fun, snacks during fun run, breakfast for special events, and so much more. Most of all they show love and appreciation to our staff SO well that it makes my heart want to burst. We have a fun competition between each class grade and the one who has the most points wins a party!! Thank you for supporting F3 and our school. The second fundraiser that will kick off next week is the favorite among our students. You guessed it!!! The BOOSTERTHON FUN RUN!!! For two weeks students will raise money to sponsor themselves running. The elementary will do a glow run and the middle and high school participate in a MESSY color run!! Teachers get the pleasure of dousing your child in bright colors of pink, yellow, green, orange and purple! Our goal is $17,000 to complete the purchase of vans and then to add quality sound and design to our stage which is utilized by the entire school throughout the year. Please join us in prayer for the Lord to allow us to reach our goal. This will benefit your student directly and other families for years to come. Go to the link below to register your student to participate and mark your calendar and come and join us for the fun!! You don't want to miss this!!

This year it has been amazing to watch our students serve and give. Both are attributes of Jesus' character and ministry. I am looking forward to the improvements that will come to our school through the hearts of a cheerful giver!

In Christ,

Winter Wonder

 Good Afternoon Falcon Family,

Returning to school has been eventful to say the least. I know that it seems we have missed a lot of school since coming back. I know that many of you are quarenting or the students have been sick. I am trying to catch up on posting their work to teams. With that being said, if your student still does not have their textbook, PLEASE order it!! I do not have access to their text book unless students are in class and can let me borrow thiers. It is twice the work for me to take pictures and upload the text reading to teams. In the event that we have to go virtual your student needs their book. I humbly and sincerly ask that you please order them a book. Your student can and will fall behind. They also need their textbooks to study and do homework. There is so much more to the textbook than just reading. Please order it!! If you are going to be out of town or on a trip your student needs to pack their book in order to keep up with the work. We do not normally have a lot of homework in Bible, however due to school closing because of weather and covid we will be flying through the material in order to get back on track.

I pray for your safety and wellbeing during the winter storm and the rise in Covid. Please feel free to reach out to me if you need anything,

In Christ,

Nancy

WELCOME BACK!!!

Happy Friday and Welcome back!! I hope that you each had a wonderful Christmas break.  It's hard to believe that we are in January and in five short months our year will be over.

Bible Class:

Bible classes are now on the opposite day than there were the first semester. Meaning if your student was on a Monday/Wednesday/Firday schedule they are now on a Tuesday/Wednesday schedule.

Your student needs a composition book for their daily journal and please get them a textbook if they do not have one. We will be flying through the book and they will need it for homework. Success comes when we are all prepared. I have checked with the publisher and you should have the book within a week of ordering. Please let me know if you have any questions.

6th Grade Drama:

We have brought the entire 6th grade together for the semester. Mrs. Durrell and I are teaming up between music and drama to put on a musical this spring. We will announce Monday the musical and will have a performance date my next Friday. We are SO excited to work with your student on this. It is going to be a performance to remember!!! Your student does not need any supplies for this class.

Hopes For Hope:

Our annual Hopes for Hope fundraisor for Relay for Life is next Friday January 14, 2022. Come out for baskeball, yummy food, a special time of worship and recognition and an overall great night with your Falcon Family!! This is the 10 year anniversary of our school participating in this fundraiser. Our little school has raised $45000 and our goal is to reach $50000!! We will also be taking donations that night for two LCS families that are currently in treatment. If you would like to donate something for our silent auction please have them to me by next Friday morning. Please email me with any question that you may have.

I am so excited for all the things that we have planned as a school for this next semester. I look forward to seeing you around campus!

Exams and Parties

 Happy Glorious Friday!

Here we are! We have made it through an entire semester!! I can't believe that our year is halfway over. Before we are off to celebrate Christmas with family and friends we must get through exams.

The following is the exam schedule for MY classes.

Tuesday Dec 14. : 8th Grade Girls Bible

Wednesday Dec 15: 6th Grade Boys Bible

Thursday Dec 16: 6th Grade Girls Bible and Drama

Friday Dec 17: 9th Grade Bible and 7th Grade Girls Bible

Reminder!! Thursday and Friday are early dismissal! School will release students at 12:00 p.m. THERE IS NO AFTERCARE on either of those days.

Students have all been given study guides for their exam. They will remain in Bible next semester, so their exam will only be a midterm.

A HUGE thank you for your families participation in the can food drive and the angel tree project. Both were VERY successful. Our angel tree child received toys, shoes, a coat and clothes!!! I can only imagine her sweet face on Christmas morning!! LCS collected over 4000!!! cans!! Our students had so much fun loading the trucks that headed over to CUOC! Those cans will help feed families right here in Sanford, NC!! How exciting is that! I am so thankful and proud to be a FALCON!

I have grown to love each and every student that is in my class. While we may all interpret the Bible differently, thank you for entrusting me to lead and teach your precious one. I hope that you each have a wonderful break and I encourage you to share the truth about why we celebrate this holiday. It is more than a holiday! It is GOD in the form of a baby! A baby boy who would grow into a man. This man teaches us by example of how to treat one another, how to love well, how to resist temptation, how to pray and fast! He is the perfect example to us! He then would give His life willingly so that we can have hope for a future. Not a future here on earth, but for eternity with Him. As I gave at my tree and and the star that tops it, I can only imagine the glory that shine when I see my Savior face to face. I long for that day! Merry Christmas Falcon Family!!!

Blessings,

Nancy Williams

Joy

 Hello Parents,

The last two years have been very difficult on so many families that we love. We have been seperated from our families. My husband and I were finally able to go visit his Mom after two years! This virus has robbed us of time and loved ones that we have unfortunately lost. Many families have lost jobs, my sister just this week, lost her job of 19 years. The holiday has a way of making us sad and satan throws in our face that when the Lord takes away, He hates us or He is punishing us. Let me reassure you that the Lord is for you, not against you. Join me in using this time to teach our students that we must find joy, even in the hardships.

Many of our students participated in serving at the Bread Basket here in Lee County. Can I just tell you, the JOY on our students faces when they seen how appreciative their community was for them to serve was AMAZING!! Let's continue that! Here are two opportunities to serve.

This year Lee Christian School has partnered with the Salvation Army to adopt a Lee County student from their Joy program. Our 6th grade class has adopted Sherlyn. Sherlyn is a 5 yr old girl from right here in Lee County! We will collect items to provide Sherlyn with the BEST Christmas. Right now we only have two gifts collected for her. Please help! Here are the details on sweet little Sherlyn:

Need: Sweater, Shoes
Want: Gabby Dollhouse (This is not a dollhouse, this is a name of a cartoon. Walmart carries the product line).  I hope we shower her with Gabby Dollhouse toys!
Clothing: Girl
Shoe Size: 11
Coat Size: 7
Pants W: 7
TShirt Size: 6
Panties: 5
Dress Size: 7

All toys and clothing must be NEW and unwrapped. Please include the receipt for any clothing so they can be exchanged if they do not fit.  Thank you for being a part of this and loving our community.

Canned Food Drive:
Our Senior Beta Club is collecting canned goods for the CUOC of Lee County. They CUOC provides food boxes every week for those in need. Students who bring in 5 cans will receive a memory verse test pass.

Lastly, I encourage you to take the time as a family to celebrate the birth of a baby that changed the world for each of us. This baby, Jesus, the long awaited Messiah came to earth to be the sacrificial lamb for our sins. To leave His place in heaven so that you and I can have the hope of salvation and not face the punishment that really should be ours, is, well, it should leave us speechless. Overwhelmed with thansgiving and JOY! Joy that cannot be contained.

Have a wonderful weekend!!

Mrs. Williams

Ephesians 1:9-14
God loved you, chose you, created you, adopted you, purchased you, redeemed you, forgave you, and sealed you. You are His. There is nothing you did to earn these spiritual blessings. They are solely rooted in His character, desire, and good pleasure.

Christmas Time Is Here!

Good Afternoon Parents,

I LOVE this time of year!! I am so excited and thankful that our little school is serving in such BIG ways.
Over the last month we have collected and packed shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child. Our students have come to love this tradition just as much as the staff! Thank you for supporting this and helping us to share the gospel of Jesus Christ to children all around the world.

But we are not stopping there! Here are the details on sweet little Sherlyn:

Our Senior Beta Club is collecting canned goods for the CUOC of Lee County. They CUOC provides food boxes every week for those in need. Students who bring in 5 cans will receive a memory verse test pass.

See what I mean about our little school serving in such big ways! We are called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. I don't think there is a better way to teach our students this, than by serving our own community. We also took 20 students over two days to serve lunch at the Bread of Life. My heart is overflowing watching our students volunteer and step up to serve.

As we head into this next week of celebrating Thanksgiving with our family and friends, I want personally thank you for your dedication to LCS. I appreciate each one of you and how well you support me as your students teacher. From quick notes or chats of encouragement, to suppling our class with clorox wipes, hand sanitizer and kleenex, to sending items for funderaising, YOU are appreciated!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I am thankful for each family who is a part of LCS!

May the Lord bless you and keep you!

In Christ,
Nancy

Thankfulness

Happy November,

I am sorry I am late posting. Last week was such a great week. Classes all went really well and our Jr Beta Club members (middle school 6-8th grades) served a local family on Friday. They were the hands and feet of Jesus ya'll!! They helped this family get a months worth of work done on their farm in a DAY! You read that right, A DAY! I will post pictures soon. The students worked hard and the work was labrious. They even chatted about how much they loved doing it and how much they loved seeing how grateful the family was. They husband and wife are both military. How cool that we were able to serve them!

Each Bible class is moving along quite nicely. If your students grade is low they have been told that there is extra credit work that they can do.

Every November I spend the month praying for others and praising God for everything that has happended over the course of the year. Yes, I even praise Him for the trials and tribulations and the not so pleasant parts of the year. One thing that I was thinking about over the weekend after watching the kids serve, was that we don't encourage them enough and you as parents don't always hear about the good that your students are doing. For example, last month a young man offered to carry by bag to my room for me one morning. I didn't ask for help, even though I was struggling to carry all that I had, but he seen me and he offered!!! Then this morning not one, but two young men held the door open for me. I will be taking pictures of my students each week this month and sharing was is unique and admirable about them. I am blessed and thankful to spend my day with them. I look forward to highlighting them over the next month.

I hope you have a blessed week. Take time to stop and take in the beauty of God's creation. He reveals Himself in everything that we see.

God Bless,

Nancy Williams
