Welcome Back

 Hello Falcon Family!

I hope that your Thanksgiving break has been a restful and peaceful one. It was much needed for me personally. I am very thankful to have had it! I can't believe that we are already into December.

Each Bible class is working on memorizing an entire chapter of the Bible. I too will be memorizing along with my classes. That means three chapters for me! YIKES!! I sure do love God's word so I am excited to do this with them. Please feel free to join your student in doing this. There is nothing sweeter than memorizing scripture with your family. I am so proud of my students and how well they are doing.

8th Grade Bible: My girls hit their goal with OCC drive!!! I am SO proud of them. They will receive donuts for breakfast on Tuesday and then on the following Monday I will treat them to lunch. Our school beat our goal of 500 shoe boxes!! Thank you to Mrs. Desjarlais who heads this up every year. In class we have been learning about how our government affects our worldview. We will continue this journey as we look at economics and stewardship.  I am looking forward to our homeroom class getting involved in a service project on campus.

6th Grade Bible:  We will continue our journey with Moses. The girls this week will get creative in ways that we can learn the Ten Commandments and why they are important to us today and in our walk with the Lord. I am excited about a couple of fun games and projects we will play this week.

10th Grade Bible:  Last week we had so much fun with a group project. Each group researched a country and shared with the class what they learned about that culture, their government, education and religion. Through this students learned ways that they could share the gospel and pray for that country.

This group gave an amazing presentation on Afghanistan. Two of the students brought clothing and artifacts from Afghanistan. They also made an Afghan dish to share as well as a dessert. GREAT JOB Kami, Gavin, Abigail and Lana!!!

MSHS Drama: It is ALL things Oz!!! And we are so excited. I will post the rehearsal for the week here on my blog. Your thespian should have also received a rehearsal schedule. Please email me if you do not have one and I will email it to you right away! Each week we will have listed who is required to be there each week. Even if it is not required, actors/actresses are encouraged to attend. Rehearsals are held in my room in the high school building and eventually we will move to the stage in the gym. When we are finished your student will come to you in the lower parking lot in from of the gym.

This week: Wednesday Dec. 2nd

Music-Jitterbug

Called: Dorothy, Munchkins, Glinda, Witch, Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion, Jitterbugs

Give thanks to the LORD, proclaim his greatness; tell the nations what he has done. Sing praise to the LORD; tell of the wonderful things he has done. Psalm 105:1-2

Memorize, Memorize, Memorize

Hard to believe that we are well underway into November. This season we tend to focus on all of the reasons that we should be and are thankful for.   I am thankful for my students and their families. I am thankful that we are able to be in school. I am thankful for health and well being of my family and your family! God is SO good to us, even in the valleys and the bad times. His word affirms that while things around us may change, He DOES NOT! He is steadfast and unchanging! There is so much comfort in that, wouldn't you agree?

BIBLE

All Bible classes will be memorizing an entire chapter over the course of this quarter. I am a firm believer in memorizing scripture so that it is bonded onto our hearts.  While we have done weekly verses, I am not a fan of memorize for the grade and then dump that information. I have found in the past that memorizing a chapter and focusing on that has a lasting impact.

6th: Psalm 91 (CSB)

8th : James 1 (CSB)

10th: 1 Peter 1 (NIV)

I also will be memorizing each of these with my classes. I encourage you to join your student on this journey with the chapter they are memorizing.

DRAMA

The last two months we have enjoyed our seniors taking lead and teaching class. Your student has not only learned basic terms and movement, they have also had the opportunity to put it into action by writing and performing their own skits and monologue. It has been so much fun to watch them use their gifts and talents.

We are now in full WIZARD OF OZ mode!! YAY   This I am most excited. There is a lot to be done but this cast is dedicated and ready to go!  Rehearsal schedules have been sent home with each student. I will also post the weekly rehearsal schedule here. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions that you may have. We are finalizing a date, it will be in April 2021!

Whether your student is in Bible or Drama we have a lot to memorize!

God Bless,

Nancy Williams
