Boosterthon FUN RUN!!!!

We have had an amazing week in Bible.  We are blessed to be able to have chapel every week. This week several students put their faith and trust in Jesus. How exciting that Josh Smith an alumni of LCS brought that message. A couple of weeks ago David Heimbecker challenged our students to read a chapter of John a day. I have had the pleasure of having some really great conversations with several students about what they are reading.

7th grade girls are working on our next couple of verses. Psalm 116:1-6

We are learning how to research a specific topic. This week the girls are learning how the four gospels give us different perspectives on Jesus Christ. From his birth to his death and resurrection.

9th grade girls are working on James 1:1-8.  Over the last couple of weeks we have spent time on understanding our worldview. Each girl wrote out what their current worldview is. It was fascinating to see what they believe and how well they were able to articulate that.

Our drama students split our time this week between working on a skit that we will perform in a couple of weeks in chapel and understanding stage directions and the technical side that helps a show be successful.

WE WILL BE PERFORMING May 8, 2021! Time to be determined.

Please make sure that if your student is a cast member that they are attending rehearsal! We are down to the wire of perfecting each scene. Choreography, music and blocking are being taught and finalized. We are also doing costume fittings.  Please email me if you would like to volunteer to help with our production.

Lastly, we are raising money for a new science lab. We are doing this through Boosterthon. Our students can earn rewards as they raise money over the next week. We will end (weather permitting) with a color run on Friday February 12. Please note that this a half day. Dismissal will be at 12:15 p.m.  Please be prepared that your student if participating in the run will be covered in colored powdered.  Cover your car seats. LOL

I hope that you all have a blessed week.

Winter Blues

We are off to a great start this semester. I have enjoyed getting to know my new students.  The weather seems to always put us in a "don't care" attitude. Keeping moral up in the winter can be a challenge. To combat this both Bible classes will be working on memorizing an entire chapter of the Bible.

7th grade Bible have started our memorization of Psalm 116. Ninth Grade Bible is also off to a great start memorizing James 1. I am very proud of all of their hard work and look forward to being on this journey with them.

If your student is virtual please make sure that they are checking teams for their assignments.  I will communicate with your student if they are missing an assignment and then will send a parent email updating you on what they are missing.

Drama:

We are working on several things this week including Wizard of Oz and a skit that we will perform in chapel.  Our students are working very hard on this production. I can't wait to see them perform.

In Christ,
