Christmas Is Coming!!

Elementary Music

Oh man! We had so much fun today at our Grandparents Day celebration! Thank you so much for coming out and supporting our school!!!

We will be singing everything Christmas for the next few weeks.
Lower Elementary will be singing a Christmas melody.
Upper Elementary (3rd-5th) will be performing "Dude, You hear What I Hear?" I am sorry that I was not able to get permission slips sent home. They will go home on Monday and auditions will be on Wednesday.

Concert Choir

This week we led music in Chapel. I am so proud of each of these students. To sing and lead in front of your peers can be quite daunting. THEY DID AN AWESOME JOB!!! They also performed for Grandparents during Elementary Chapel. In two weeks I will be holding auditions for a praise team as part of our choir. I very excited to see our kids step up and step out. This will be a wonderful addition to our choir and performances.
Next week we will begin learning our music for our Christmas Show.

Bible

Our week has been fun! We have took a personality test and talked about how our personalities were designed by God for Him to do good things in us and through us.  We also are working on memorizing Eph. 4:2-4 and 1 Peter 4:2-8.
Next week their in class group project is due. This project consist of writing a skit or song using Eph 4:2-4.

Aftercare

Parents we have had some issues the last couple of weeks with fist fighting and slapping.  I have addressed the group as a whole and shared why this is unacceptable and what the Bible says about controlling our actions. Please be aware that if your student has three infractions they will be suspended from Aftercare for a day. I ask that you please join me in talking to your student about talking to a teacher if they are angry our upset.

Tuesday there is a Cross Country meet on campus. There will be over 400 here on campus. Pick up will be in the gym from 3:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and in the cafeteria after that. We will have designated parking for pick up. Please look for the sign in front of the cafeteria. Please contact me if you have any questions.

If you would like Aftercare services when the school is closed for Holidays or teacher work days, we will have a sign up sheet posted during pick up.

I hope everyone has a blessed week!

We are perfecting the National Anthem and look forward to performing this soon at an athletic game.
We are also working on a song for chapel that we will perform Wednesday during chapel. We invite you to come and join us! Christmas is just around the corner and we will be practicing Christmas music before you know it.

7th Grade Bible

We have studied Abraham, Isaac and Esau this week. We had great discussion about our own struggles and times that we have seen the Lord at work.  We will have an oral quiz every Friday on our memory verse. We are still working on not only reciting the verse but understanding the meaning and how it relates to us at this moment in our life.

Have a blessed weekend!!
Nancy Williams

September 11 - September 18, 2019

Good Afternoon Parents,

I hope you all weathered the storm safe and sound. We have worked this week on getting caught up.

Elementary Music

Mark your calendars for Sept 27! This is our grandparent day chapel. Please invite grandparents or adopted grandparents, or even just someone who needs to be loved on and appreciated! Our choir kids are working really hard to make this chapel very special!!

Christmas musical auditions will be on Sept 25, 2019.  This is for 3rd - 5th grade.  Information will be sent home with your student soon.

Middle/High Choir

Choir has been working on a group project this week. Each group is working on a worship song. We are also working on a song for Chapel and will be leading worship in 2 weeks. We welcome you to join us!

7th Grade Bible

These kids are amazing. The students are settling in and we are starting to feel more comfortable with each other.  One of our students lost her Grandfather and this class has been so sweet in praying for her and her family!  We are working on memorizing our theme verse this year. Students may use a version of their choice.

Ephesians 4:2-4 "With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, making every effort to keep the unity of the spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body, and one spirit. Just as you were called to one hope at your calling." ESV

This week we have studied Noah, Job, and Abraham. Next we will continue to look at Abraham's life.

AFTERCARE

We are having such a great time in aftercare. We are sad that Savannah Bostwich will be leaving us. Friday is her last day. Please pray for her as she moves to Florida to attend a specialty school to further her knowledge in her degree.

Next week we have a full schedule of home games on Thursday and Friday. Sept 19 -20. Parking will be FULL! We are designating 2 spots in front of the cafeteria for aftercare pick up.  Please look for the marked spaces!

Staff:
This week we introduce Mrs. Mattice.  You may be familiar with Mrs. Mattice, she has helped in aftercare for the last couple of years. This year her focus is with the middle school age students.  Mrs. Mattice enjoys her life on the farm. She enjoys her chickens and cows. She loves music and science and is a HUGE Yankees fan! ( We won't hold that against her!)

Mrs. Mattice is such an asset to our program. Her love for Jesus and life is contagious and we are so thankful she is here!

Off To A Great Start!

What a fun week we have had! Please be patient as I have several different classes and aftercare that I will be updating parents on each week.

Elementary Music
This week we started learning our theme song for the year. We are also practicing for Grandparents day. We also have had fun singing some of our favorite songs from last year. Silly songs are our favorite! Mrs. Meyers class had a great time leading worship for chapel.

Middle/High School Choir
Choir kids are busy learning what range they sing. We are starting off by learning the our Nation Anthem. We also are working on a song for chapel. Each of these kids come with amazing talent. I look forward to working with them this year. I can't wait for you to hear them!!

7th Grade Bible
This week we will continue our journey in Genesis. As we read thru and study the old testament we are looking for three main points that are the focus of every story in the Bible. Creation, fall and redemption.  CFR is how we refer to this in class.  We begin each class with prayer, five minute quiet time in Proverbs and then five minutes of writing in our prayer journals. We are off to a strong start memorizing our theme verse for the year, Eph 4:2-6.

Aftercare
Parents, I can't thank you enough for your patience as we navigated our first week.

Aftercare forms are due ASAP! If your student does not have a form filled out he/she will not be able to in aftercare until the proper forms have been turned in.

Please refer to your aftercare packet for check in times, fees and activities.  Please make sure that you have programmed in our number to your phone. The office closes at 4:00 p.m. and this will be the only way that you have to reach us!!

We are working on getting a couple of parking spaces that will be for aftercare pick up only between the hours of 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. We know that it is very frustrating to try and find a parking spot during home games.

Stay tuned next week for introductions of our amazing staff!!

In Him,
Nancy Williams
